CORTISOL - 8 ways to reduce stress hormone
You may have heard of Cortisol, a hormone that is produced in our bodies when we experience situations that cause us stress. Of course, in today's world, we go through many stressful situations, because we have responsibilities and commitments in our daily lives. Many of us have children, families, take care of the house, and still have a career to maintain. Knowing how to deal with the daily routine is a wise activity, because we have to know how to deal with our lives, to be happy.
Sometimes we become so focused on others that we don't pay attention to ourselves and our bodies. But our body is very intelligent and he give us signs that you are stressed. Some of these signs can be symptoms of anxiety, insomnia, nervousness, fear, burnout, irritability, headaches, migraines, digestive problems, back pain, and so on... When our bodies start giving us these signs, it's time to stop and take care of ourselves. When the stress hormone, Cortisol, is produced in large quantities, these imbalances occur.
Some ways to alleviate these symptoms are to practice self-care. You don't need a magic formula or medication to reduce stress, but you do need some habits that can change your lifestyle. It's up to us to find our inner strength to acquire these good habits. Some things that can help alleviate cortisol are:
1. Going for walks outdoors. Walking near nature, in a field or on a beach, helps you get some sun and vitamin D, an important vitamin in combating stress, and benefits your physical and mental health.
2. Eating a healthy diet. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables, helps nourish our body and strengthen our immune system. Having a strong immune system helps combat stress and ward off various diseases. Cut sugar and salt or decrease the consumption doses, to clean the blood of impurities from time to time. Drink more water. Do a 15-day detox and see your health change.
3. Practicing physical activity. Exercising increases the feel-good hormones dopamine and serotonin, two hormones that are opposite to cortisol. Choose an activity that you enjoy, such as dancing, yoga, swimming, martial arts, weight training, running, anything that makes you sweat or that gives you a feeling of well-being after exercise.
4. Get a good night's sleep. Rest, and if possible, get 8 hours of sleep. Our body needs to rest to recover energy and also produce a very important hormone, melatonin.
5. Take Immune Support Supplement. If you need supplements and vitamins to start improving your health, take them. Check your blood and see what you need to supplement. This helps to give you a boost and also to fight against bad cells.
6. Be silent. Take some time for yourself, and enjoy reading, writing, and meditating. It is essential to be silent to cultivate inner peace.
7. Use essential oils. The aromas and properties of herbs, plants and fruits are great alternatives to relax your mind. You can inhale them, give yourself a self-massage or aromatize the environment with a diffuser. This transmits tranquility and serenity into your home and also helps to relieve stress, especially some aromas such as Lavender, Frankincense, Young Living Stress Away, Feelings kit, Chamomile and many others that you may try and like.
8. Breathe. Take 3 deep breaths. A good technique is to count your inhalation to 4. Pause briefly with the air in your lungs, and release for a count of 5. If necessary, repeat 3 more times. Breathing calms the cells of our nervous system and oxygenates the cells of our brain.
Have a blessed day. Namaste 🙏🏼
