PRANA - ENERGY LIFE FORCE

What is Prana ?

Prana is the source of all energy in the universe - they are the atoms of light that exist in the Universe.

We all live in Prana, without it, life on Earth wouldn’t be possible.

The Prana is in all nature, in the water, in the air, in the earth and in the fire - through the sun’s rays, sea, rocks and crystals, through breathing, plants and food - it is part of the non-visible life, whose vibration is purely divine.

Also, the Chinese Traditional Medicine (CTM), for your curiosity, they call it CHI or QI - The Energy of LifeThe CTM fundamentals are based on increase the CHI.

There are Chinese Practices called QI Gong and Tai Chi, all related to the Life Force, this energy that move us, within and without. This subtle energy, Prana or Chi, acts through a mechanism whose rhythm coincides with the pulmonary respiration.

Each time we inhale we absorb Prana and, with each time we exhale, we distribute it to the various organs of the subtle body.

Prana is also the energy that circulates through the body and regulates all body functions, is transformed into various forces in the body, and is involved in processes that ensure that we will eliminate the things we no longer need.

In these forces or five different forms, each Prana has its own function and area of action in the body, they are different energy currents called Vayus (channels), and each one governs vital functions in the body - there is a direct relationship between energy blocks in these channels and physical diseases.

We spend much of our lives involuntarily depriving ourselves of enough oxygen, breathing shallow and fast in our daily life routine. And this is what leaves us in a very impoverished energetic and spiritual state.

But it may also be that you are wasting your Prana, either due to overwork, or because it lets it escape by spending many hours in front of the computer or television, stays in places with air conditioning or uses a microwave.

All these activities empty the prana.

Compare the fatigue you feel in these situations, with the energizing feeling you have when you are in a place full of Prana – near the sea, for example, or in a mountain with a lot of fresh air.

Practices of yoga, qi gong, meditation, spa treatments and aromatherapy, slow down your day and make you aware of the need to breathe deeper and relax.

So, regulated and conscious respiratory practices can nourish our physical body, help us to transform ourselves and heal from emotional blockages.

In Yoga Tradition, one of the very important practices is the breathing exercises called Pranayama.

The Pranayama exercises consist of the control of the breath, extension or retention, deepening the expansion of the lungs, abdominal breathing, chest and diaphragm breathing, counting breath, just to name a few of the techniques.

"Prana feeds the brain to the extent that it controls the functioning of the nervous system”
